Yes; by doing so, you reveal whether your heart loves sin or hates it. The person who confesses sin wholeheartedly is like someone who, finding a thief or a traitor hiding in their house, brings him out to face the punishment he deserves. But the person who refuses to confess is like someone who shelters that thief or traitor in defiance of the laws and peace of our Lord the King.
