Q135. Why is it not possible to please Him without believing?
Because in all true worship, a person "must believe that God is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Beyond that, whoever worships God must also believe His word, or they cannot worship with the reverence and fear that is fitting. Without that faith, worship becomes superstitious and hollow: "For whatsoever is not of faith is sin".
