Yes. Esau never intended to give up the blessing permanently; he planned to claim it later. But God treated his failure to choose it in the present moment as a contempt for it, a sign that he preferred his appetites over his inheritance. And so, when Esau finally wanted it, God would not grant it, but rejected both him and his tears.
