Q46. What do you mean by saying, he ascended into heaven?
That Christ, while his disciples watched, was lifted up from the earth to heaven and will be there for our good until he comes again to judge the living and the dead.

The ascension of Christ into heaven is a visible, physical, and real transfer of His body and soul from earth into that heaven which is above all visible heavens, at the right hand of God, in that light which no creature can approach, where He now dwells and remains, and from which He will come to judge the world. Here, as with the article on Christ's resurrection, two things especially deserve our attention: the historical account and the fruits it produces.
When discussing the historical account of Christ's ascension, there are several key questions worth examining:
1. Who ascended? The very same person who suffered and rose again.
