Q74. How do Baptism and the Lord's Supper become spiritually helpful?

The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper become spiritually beneficial not through any power they contain in themselves, nor through any merit in the person who administers them, but solely through the blessing of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit in those who receive them in genuine faith.
